The best thing of 2013 happened at 0dark:47, 05 November when my grandson Malachi Adrian Real Black entered the world. Although I have 5 children and 9 grandchildren I didn’t give birth to my children and it was my first time to actually be in a delivery room. Because he was born by c-section, I heard him before I got to see him. Holding him and passing him to his mother was absolutely magical. He’s also brought his mother and me much closer. Many good things happened last year, but this was the best.

Well, I’m already a day late and a dollar short with the blogging challenge! I will have to do yesterday’s post tomorrow because we are travelling right now and the pictures I want to use are on my laptop. We are heading home after a wonderful Christmas visit with my parents, my brother, and my brother in law. From there we went to visit wonderful friends just north of Calgary. Our daughter and her two sons are travelling with us, along with our three dogs. I am so blessed. My husband is a wonderful driver, and transports us safely while I read, type and tweet. This morning while scrolling through Facebook I found this:
What if this was everyone’s resolution? I know that I don’t love myself enough. I make poor choices regarding nutrition and exercise, taking my medication on time, going to bed on time etc. I also need to change the negative soundtrack in my head. If the soundtrack is saying over and over, “I’m so tired. I’m so messy. I’m too lazy to walk the dogs/do the dishes/put this way etc.” then that becomes the day to day reality. In loving myself more this year I am going to consciously work on changing that soundtrack to a more positive one. We need to love ourselves in order to love others, so I think that this resolution should cover all the bases. Here’s to a wonderful, love filled year!
